Factors That Affect Hair Transplant Prices

Before we dive into the average cost of a hair transplant, it’s essential to understand the factors that affect the price. There are several factors to consider, including:

The number of grafts

The more hair grafts you need, the higher the cost will be.

The technique used

There are two primary techniques used for hair transplantation: Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). FUE is generally more expensive than FUT because it’s a more advanced technique.

The location of the clinic

The cost of living and operating a business can vary significantly by location. Hair transplant clinics in metropolitan areas are typically more expensive than those in smaller towns.

The surgeon's experience

An experienced surgeon with a good reputation will likely charge more for their services than a less experienced surgeon.

Additional fees

There may be additional fees for anesthesia, facility fees, and post-operative care.

The initial hair will fall out immediately after the transplant. This is no reason to panic, it is simply a normal reaction. Transplanted grafts stay. Over the next months, the hair will start to grow back, and you will start seeing the results. After this, the transplanted hair does not fall out.

With our long hair transplantation method, you can even preview the results right after the operation.

You can start to expect to see the results a few months after the operation. However, depending on the hair transplantation method used, it takes 6-9 months to show the majority of the results and up to 12 months to see the final results.

This is because it takes time for the newly grafted hair to adjust to the position, establish connections to the blood vessels, heal and start producing the keratine necessary for the hair to grow. While this may seem like a long time, the healthy process must unfold. Of course, there are instances where less or more time might be needed, but 6-9 months is the generally accepted and average time required for most cases.

All hair transplant operations are done with local anesthetics that prevent the patient from feeling any pain during the process. Some may feel some pressure or discomfort, but in most cases, there is no pain present during the process itself. While it may take up to several hours, the regular sedation and presence of a professional team ensure the healthy passage of time with little to no discomfort for the person getting the hair transplant.

Even in the post-operative period, pain is minimal and can be treated with the use of the simplest painkillers, such as Ibuprofen. Most patients will experience pressure, mild swelling, and light discomfort for a week after the operation. However, this is expected and will pass shortly after.
